If you haven’t heard about Pierce football then you haven’t been paying much attention. The historic powerhouse has been at an elite level in recent years and once again look to make their way back to the championship game for a fourth straight year.

Battle tested would be a good way to describe the Nebraska Christian football squad in a season that has seen plenty of excitement and drama. The Eagles looked to draw from their close wins and losses in a game that had potential to once again come down to the final moments.

The High Plains Community football team had picked up momentum with two wins in a row before losing a close battle against Nebraska Lutheran. Last Friday they looked to get back on track as they played their final home game of the season against a familiar opponent, the Palmer Tigers.

With a youthful and inexperienced roster, the Central City High School girls’ golf team looked to take their shot all season long as they continued to keep improving as the season went along. The season came to an end on Monday at the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lincoln as the team battled in the C-1 district meet.

As we move down the stretch the 2022 volleyball season will begin to heat up as teams look to hit their stride late in the season before the regular season comes to a completion. For the Nebraska Christian Eagles and the High Plains Community Storm the 2022 season has brought with it plenty of wins already, but both teams will be looking for another solid week of play.

Brick by brick has been the motto of the Central City High School volleyball team this season and those bricks are beginning to pay off as the team has doubled their win total from a season ago. Saturday began with tough losses to Aquinas Catholic and North Bend, but the Bison settled in and took care of business against Twin River (25-15, 25-23) to win their sixth match of the season.
