Body
Last Wednesday students and faculty were able to get their first peak inside the Bison Athletic Dome and in doing so it left many Bison students, faculty and alums in disbelief. The evolution of Central City High School has been fast and furious over recent years with massive improvements to multiple educational and athletic areas of the school. Left to right from top: Anthony McPhillips gives a smile and thumbs up as he checks out the dome, where is Bison girls wrestling team will begin their inaugural season. Students make their way into the dome to soak it all in. Work still needs completed on the upper section of the dome, but students take in the view from above. Aaron Heins, Brent Kennedy, Jeff Jensen and Brett Zikmund relax after some stressful months of construction. Faith Campa and Teagan Sadler were more than happy to share their excitement for the dome early on a Wednesday morning. Kordell Hamer fakes an injury so he can test out a new training table in the outstanding trainer’s room. The Runza End Line Suit will be open for bids this season.

November 9, 2022 Student Reactions

Body
“Right when the garage doors opened and the school walked in seeing the dome for the very first time, hearing everyone’s amazing positive opinions hit me. I couldn’t believe it was real. I am so excited to represent the Bison on the front of my jersey in the dome. I got chills thinking about being chosen to play in our awesome facilities. Our school has grown so much in just the past year and we should all celebrate by coming together and supporting one another. I want to give a huge thank you to everyone that contributed to the breathtaking structure. Thank you Central City.” - Caleigh Botsch, Junior “I thought it was phenomenal. I really wasn’t expecting it to look so advanced. I mean the scoreboard looks beyond gorgeous, we have a whole suite in the gym, Trainer Josh’s room is way more spacious and has an ice bath, the lockers don’t look musty and actuallylookcool, theshowersmakemewanttoshoweratschool, the bathrooms have dividers between stalls and have a smooth grey atmosphere to them, the lighting isn’t dim and really gets you to open your eyes, there are a million seats, and the trophy case looks way more appealing. All in all, it feels more advanced than most colleges! I know everyone keeps saying they feel so blessed by this, but it’s one hundred percent true. Our dome is a serious game-changer!”- Van Fasbender, Junior “When I walked into the Dome I was amazed. I couldn’t believe how good it looked and how well it all came together. I was walking around and imagining playing in the dome and how full it would be on game days. The atmosphere of the Dome is so cool and how we will all be able to compete in the dome. With the amount of time that was put into making it, it is so nice. The dome is definitely a place where everyone at Central City can be successful. I am very grateful for the opportunities we get at Central City.” -Aubrey Garfield, Sophomore
