Coming off of a heartbreaking loss to one of the states top teams the Central City High School football team knew they needed to take care of business on the road against St. Paul last Friday.
It is hard to even begin to recap an outstanding season for the Central City High School softball team. It was a season that brought with it a school record for wins in a season (26), a winning streak for the record books and last week it came to an end with a fourth-place finish at the NSAA State Softball Championships.
A total of twenty teams entered into the D-2 District Cross Country Meet at the Elks Country Club in Hastings last Thursday looking for glory. As the dust settled on a busy day of cross country action one school stood above the rest and that team was the Nebraska Christian Eagles.
In just a blink of an eye the 2022 high school volleyball season has flown by as area teams wrapped up their regular season and now will prepare to enter in to subdistrict volleyball action this upcoming Monday and Tuesday. While schedules are yet to be announced teams are now preparing to see their season continue in triumph or come to an end in heartbreak.
Coming into the 2022 cross country season the Central City Bison knew that the numbers were not on their side in terms of team competitions, but the small team looked to keep setting new bests and improve as the season went along.

On Wednesday October 12, 2022, juniors Lilly Longoria-Hanson and Autum Hewitt participated in the DECA Fall Leadership Conference in Omaha. They began their day listening to the keynote speaker, Patty Hendrickson. Lilly claimed her biggest takeaway from Mrs. Hendrickson was the phrase, “Every person you meet knows something you don’t.”

Over the course of the grinding season the expectations have become reality in terms of schedule and Friday night they once again found themselves up against a quality opponent.
The growth of the Bison volleyball team over the past two season has been clear as the team continues to get better with each match. As they entered into the Lou-Platte Conference Volleyball Tournament the team hoped that the improvement would show in another match with Centura on Monday night.
