The Eagles faced off against the formidable Mustangs of Sumner-Eddyville-Miller (SEM) in a district final matchup, with hopes of securing a ticket to the state volleyball tournament. Unfortunately, the Mustangs emerged victorious with a 3-0 win, marking an end to Nebraska Christian’s 24-7 season.

In an electrifying display of skill and teamwork, the Nebraska Christian volleyball team stamped their ticket to the district final after clinching the D1-4 subdistrict title this week. The team, showcasing their prowess and determination, first overcame Heartland on Monday night. On Tuesday, they faced a determined Shelby-Rising City squad and emerged victorious after a hard-fought match.

The Central City High School volleyball team, after an exceptional pair of turnaround seasons, culminated their volleyball journey this season with a closely contested match against Aurora’s Huskies. Though the Bison ended their season with a 15-15 record, their prowess on the court cannot be overlooked.

Central City High School’s football season came to a close last night as they fell to Aurora High School with a score of 27-41. The Bison finished the season with a 4-5 record with multiple games being decided by just a single score.

On a sunlit day with the warmth adding an extra challenge, the state’s best high school runners gathered at Kearney Country Club to showcase their talent at the NSAA State Cross Country meet. The Nebraska Christian girls, a powerhouse in their own right, finished sixth overall in Class D.

Central City’s volleyball team showcased their determination last week, rebounding from an opening round defeat to seize a notable fifth-place finish in the Lou-Platte Conference Tournament. The achievement is a testament to their resilience and commitment, as they faced and conquered formidable opponents.

Battling not only one of their fiercest rivals but also the elements, Central City High’s football team showcased their resilience on Friday night, overcoming early injuries to seal a triumphant 44-7 win over their ardent rivals, the St. Paul Wildcats.

Last Wednesday was not just another day in Hastings; it was a testament to the sheer determination and prowess of local cross country runners. At the NSAA C-4 and D-4 District Championships, Central City and Nebraska Christian athletes charged ahead, securing their places for the NSAA State Cross Country Championships to be held this Friday.
