Platte PEER Group Executive Director presented a highlight slide show of 2022 accomplishments at Bader Park and the Dark Island Trail at the group’s Annual Meeting held on January 17th at Bader Park. The slide show is available on FaceBook and web-site at https://plattepeergroup. org/who-we-are/ annual-reports.html Major accomplishments in 2022 included: ● Bader Park had 180,000+ visitors in 2022 ● Doubling RV capacity with the addition of the Prairie Campground ● The new campground will pay for itself in approximately 3 years ● New Point-of-Service software now provides better on-line RV lot reservations ● Trail segment sponsorships provide funds for trail improvements ● Popular events including: Halloween Party at Bader Park, DIT Half-marathon, Taco Rides, Art Events, Donor Appreciation events Following the slide show, Clark reviewed financials for the year and relayed goals for 2023 including: ● Continue Dark Island Trail improvements and support trail expansion ● Increase educational opportunities at Bader Park and on the Dark Island Trail ● Continue with land management to preserve natural resources ● Improve visitor accessibility at Bader Park Officers were elected for 2023 including: President-elect: John Boeder, (will assume duties in June). Outgoing President, Chuck Griffith will conclude his term in May. Vice-President: Jason Buss, Secretary: Carol Quandt and Treasurer: Hannah Clark.
