Patricia Lee Lewis was born in Nance County, on March 12, 1933, to William Glen and Beulah Jane Haskins Lewis. She graduated from Central City High School in 1950 and was employed at the Raecke & Phares Law Office and Farmers National Bank.

In 1963 she moved to Lincoln and was a court reporter in a freelance firm until 1972 after which she was employed by the U.S.

Army and the United States Attorney’s office. In 1976 she became a deputy clerk in the United States District Court. She served as the courtroom deputy clerk for Judge Warren K. Urbom and Magistrate Judge David L. Piester as well serving as jury administrator.

She married to C. Vernon Nelson in 1972 and they lived on an acreage near Raymond until 1990 when they moved to LIncoln. She retired from the U.S. District Court Clerk’s office in 1999.

She was member of Warren United Methodist Church, Raymond Grange, the Bryan LGH Woman’s Board and volunteered at Bryan LGH East.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and leaves surviving several cousins and spouses and their families, 8 nieces and nephews and spouses and their families, and many friends.
