Robert “Bob” B. Kirk, 81, of Central City, died Friday, January 5, 2024, at Crane Gardens in Grand Island. Visitation will be Saturday January 13, 2024 from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at the Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 am at the funeral home, with Pastor Doug McHargue officiating. Due to weather, the interment will be at a later date. His daughters will provide a light luncheon after the services.

com. Bob was born on October 18, 1942, to Lawrence and Verna Mae (Kranz) Kirk in Grand Island. He grew up on a farm in the Cairo area and graduated from Cairo High School in 1960. Following his graduation, Bob attended Kearney State College where he graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree. Bob united in marriage to Virginia Gressett-Kufeldt. This union resulted in two daughters, Robbyn and Cindy. Bob then began teaching in Stromsburg, before later moving to Fremont until 1975. He then moved to Hastings where he lived in the area for many years. Bob later united in marriage to Dianne Billesbach, where he had two more daughters, Lyndsay and Michelle. In 2012, he moved to Central City and met his special friend and dancing partner Nancy Hohnroth. He continued to work while in Central City, finally retiring in 2014. While he was a man of many trades over the years, he was always a farm kid at heart.

Bob was a man of many interests, including, golfing, kayaking, boating, travelling, and dancing. He also earned his pilot’s license and took his first solo flight on November 27, 1982. He enjoyed being active, especially anything outdoors.

Bob was a member of the Eagle’s Club, Southern Hills Country Club, and the Elks Club in Hastings, as well as Valley View Country Club in Central City. He also attended the United Presbyterian Church in Central City.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Robbyn Lamb of Ludell, KS, Cindy (Troy) Kirk-Talbert of Juniata, Lyndsay (Christopher) Lang of Omaha, and Michelle (Matt Bigler) Grace of Omaha, his special friend Nancy Hohnroth of Central City, his sister; Connie (Don) Robertson of Grand Island, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Arthur Kirk, his sister Donna Kirk, and son-in-law Craig Lamb.
