Lauran Ann Ostberg, age 35, of Stromsburg, went to be with Jesus on March 30, 2024 at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Hospital in Osceola.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Keet Redden officiating. Pallbearers were Glenn Larson, Wayne Larson, Scott Wagner, Ben Powell, Ed Ostberg and Rick Rutter. Interment was in the Stromsburg Cemetery. The service may be viewed on the Stromsburg Evangelical Free Church YouTube channel.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later. Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg and Osceola has been entrusted with arrangements. Dubasfuneralhome. com Lauran was born June 7, 1988, in Lincoln to Murray and Ann (Larson) Ostberg. She attended elementary schools in Columbus, Sabetha, KS, and Omaha, and Andersen Middle School in Omaha. She graduated from Millard South in 2006. She then attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney and graduated in 2013 with a degree in International Studies. She worked at various jobs including teaching English in Korea for 13 months, Henderson State Bank and was currently the director at the Stromsburg Public Library.

Lauran was active in the arts and enjoyed drawing, photography and worship music. Her passion was knowing and loving people from other cultures, especially Korea and Japan. She was a past president of the Yorkshire Play House and was their current treasurer. She was the director of their 2023 Christmas Play. She was learning to crochet and was on the Stromsburg Legacy committee.

She was a member of the New Life Church in Lincoln. Survivors include her parents Murray and Ann Ostberg of Stromsburg; brother Erik (Shanita) Ostberg of Waterloo; two sisters Erin (Chris) Stargel of Omaha and Caitlin of Knoxville, TN; nieces and nephew: Arion, Joshua and Emilia Ostberg and Grace and Ella Stargel; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Donald and Dorothy Larson, and Donald and Doris Ostberg.
